Therapy is most effective when people feel safe, supported, and accepted without judgment. My goal is to create a space where you can show up as you are, feel heard, and begin moving toward healing in a way that feels genuine and manageable.
My path into counseling grew out of both life experience and personal growth. I served 23 years in the Army before retiring and later worked with the Department of Veterans Affairs and in diplomatic security overseas. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of trauma, stress, resilience, and the ways people learn to carry their impact for long periods of time. They also helped shape my desire to support others the way I was supported when I needed help myself.
I specialize in working with adults facing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and other difficult experiences. I am especially drawn to working with veterans, first responders, and others who may feel more comfortable with a therapist who understands military culture, high-stress environments, and the challenge of learning to let the armor down. My approach is compassionate, grounded, and client-centered. I am trauma-informed and use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients better understand themselves and move forward.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but you do not have to do it alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing process.
